Me being such a patriotic guy, respect national symbols, get angry when people talk against my country and many such things. Is there any justification to it…??
Yes our sports has imporved tremendously, some big business tycoons are making news. But when it comes to almost all other things it is such a shameful and sorry figure of my motherland being portrayed. All the mass is busy in accumulating wealth and investing abroad and maintaining so called bulky balance in the very famous Swiss Bank.
I met a guy in a conference, and we got into a discussion of my (my company’s) future plans. I went on to explain I wanted to do something for the society. Some eco friendly venture, maybe alternative source of energy by introducing solar lamps…. He started laughing and said, “Son, go to African country and do it you will feel good, u do it in your country, your politicians will eat up 95% of your company funding….”
Feeling offended, I tried to argue, but all he said was, “show me one development project in your country without corruption…..” I may find a few if I look for it for years, but I was spell bound, ashamed. A flyover construction takes ages to be completed, all the deadlines are dead and buried, I guess they have become fossil fuels too, but the projects are not yet complete.
I badly want something to talk to other than sports and our previous generation (heritage n culture) is there nothing I can boast of while speaking about my country on the topic of development? Bloody cost of security for a terrorist (who is to be hanged) can feed atleast 20 people is my guess.
The current political scenario has made me so ashamed to even mention the name of my country in this blog. I still am a patriot; I would never give up my motherland. But when I can have so much of patriotism, can others (politicians and ppl who hide illegal wealth) not have 3% of it? I’m sure if each person develops even 10% of love and respect to our country we will develop in 10 times the speed we are now…..
But is there anybody to hear (forget listening) to this cry of the minority group (referring to group of ppl who are truly patriots)? I doubt….this is just a blog which will get lost in the huge ocean on internet.
