We hit pondy again…Day 1

Stresssseeedddd out……. was how I was till Friday noon. As always, last minute bookings, I had already booked for the cottages and return tickets, but Bangalore to Pondy was not yet booked and we were supposed to take the Friday night train :P

Well 1 thing that always kept me cool was the fact that more than 500 tickets were available and the train was not running full. However, it was done and after scampering helter skelter me, Rajeeth n Meghna finally reached the yeshvanthpur railway stn, where Bharath and his wife were waiting already, to board the train to Pondy. This was the first time I was travelling in an AC class and must say for hard core (train)traveler like me, I did miss the track sound L but its good to hear some nice music and not to mention the cooool bogies….

Slow and steady wins the race is what this train is all about….reaching as late as 930am on Saturday. Anyways, we took 2 ricks from there and headed towards the cottages booked. On the way I stopped over to pick up the first beer of the trip, yes an early morning beer. Once we hit the cottages and put our luggage in the respective rooms, few guys went to freshen up, but I was already fresh sipping on the beer.

In about an hour came in our second party, Ram Abhi and Rachna drove down from Chennai. Ram scheduled to go back and Abhi Rachna were to come back with us to Bangalore. After about 15mins chitchat, I took the car and headed shopping for alcohol. 6kms to downtown and our car was loaded with alcohol needed. By the time we went back side dishes wer already ordered and the noon session started. Whiskies, Vodkas, Beers, Breezers and Sprite……all of it flowed very freely with amazing stories from the past to keep company. On a happy high and no so fully drunk, we finished lunch, woke up the lazy bums who were down for the sleep after their lunch, got our swimming gear and hit out to the beach. surprisingly we left all the cameras back, so no photos at all :(

2 mins walk and we were on the shores, inviting water due to the untolerable heat and humidity of the city sucked us in and threw us out like fish drinking water to breathe. Fun unlimited was what it was for the next 2 hours before we came back and finished our shower to get rid of the sand and salt. Within no time it was 7pm and all of us were hungry. We walked about 5 mins to head to a restaurant and had food at leisure. The waiter was in more leisure mood than us. Finally the dinner plan right from entry to exit of the place lasted 3 hours!

Ok now is the most surprisingly sad part, went back to the cottage from where Ram headed back to Chennai. By the time I could get into another round of alcohol session, all the rest had gone and settled into their respective beds.

Whatever happened to the late night parties we have?? I dunno what the reason was, maybe the age or the tiredness of the beach after drinking….everyone just crashed. Finally so did I….
